How To Make My Iphone Turn On Faster When Charging

Chosen Solution

When plugged in, do you get the battery symbol come up on your phone?

iPhone 5 has known battery issues. If the phone registers the cable, I would look to replace the battery (genuine Apple replacement only) AND then also restore the iphone via iTunes, and set it up as a new iphone

If it doesn't register the cable being plugged in, try other cables / charging plugs, then look to replace the charging port.

You can get more help at the iPhone Won't Turn On wiki. Good luck!

Heat it up with a hairdryer, it will work

--To prevent confusion, this is a reminder that this update was by another person.--

I honestly don't know why this would work, but being that it has helped people, I want to remind everybody: DO NOT HEAT YOUR BATTERY DIRECTLY! This is extremely dangerous. Maybe @philipengel could elaborate more on what he heated and for how long? :)

In this situation it is always hard to judge exactly where the problem lies. To me, this sounds like a battery failure. You can buy the battery here:

And the guide to fix it can be found here:

Hope this helps! And good luck, happy repairs to you :)

IT F**KING WORKED!!!!! OMG!!! THANK YOU TO WHOEVER CAME UP WITH THIS IDEA. I'M LITERALLY QUACKING!!!!!!

It didn't work at first so I tried again for the second time.

First, make sure that you really heat up your phone for 3mins. using a hair dryer.

Second, plug it in as soon as you turn off the heat.

I WAS SHOOKT WHEN THE APPLE LOGO INSTANTLY POPPED OUT. PEACE!!!!!!!!!!

After looking at all of the answers, I was still feeling a bit skeptical, but I decided to pull a "Why The !&&* Not" move. I turned on my radiator and held my iPhone 6s to it for a minute or so, and it booted up right away. Very happy to know that strange things like this work. If you're around the cold a lot or move from one temperature to the next like I do for work, then this method will absolutely help you out. Try cleaning it out frequently to allow for the best charges. Once I plugged my phone in, after it turned on, it charged faster than when I first got it. Since I've started typing this, it's gone from 11% to 24%. Hope this helps!

I cannot believe this worked, even from seeing all the people it worked for I was sceptical; these things always work for other people and not me. My phone charged all night (from 12am - 7am) and then stayed in a portable charger all morning. It so also an iPhone 6 and the battery is even worse than Akaja's my phone need to be charged constantly and if it comes off charge it turns off.

So as I said, the phone had been off from 10am and stayed on the portable charge till 1pm then I decide to use my plug for a stronger charger, 5 hours later it still hadn't turned, then used my bran new iPhone X charger, 1 hour later it Still. Didn't. Turn. On. Thats when I went onto uncle Google and found this, I put it on the heater for 20 seconds both sides, plugged it in and no less than a second the apple sign came on.. I am amazed!

Whats more irritating after being charged continuously for 18 hours and 57 minutes it turned on at 12%.... Like Stephen said since writing this my phone has charged from 12% to 40% incredible. Keep your iPhone warm people!!

Akaja thank you for this post!!! You saved my phone from destruction and Philip you are a life saver!!

my working phone was dead and all of my clients' chats & numbers were there, most stupid thing that I haven't got to back it up. so desperate because my ip5s won't turned on after 2 hours of charging and I'm dead for sure if this won't back to life again..

trying to find a clue on google, and came up to this. i'm truly skeptical at first and was like "is this for real or these guys got paid for saying the method is really working?". heated up my ip5s with hair dryer for 1 minute till it gets warm and plugged the charging cable back, then miracle happens!

It is seems that your power supply circuits are fine that means your battery and battery connector are working fine. Battery symbol shown on screen. So display assembly are also fine. Now your iphone wont turn on or not booting up is your problem.

Have you connected to itunes does it recognize by itunes. try to force restart your iphone. or try to enter in dfu mode.

But first i want to know that your iphone is recognize by itunes or computer or not. If it is not find by computer than some basic hardware failure is there or may be os corrupted.

okay so i thought that i'd share my experience since everyone's is different. i tried heating up my phone for the first time after reading this, around 2-3inches away from my phone for about 30 seconds (no luck). then after that i tried again for long still heating up only the back of my phone (still no luck). after reading a comment on how someone did about 1 minute on both sides i decided to try it, i didn't think it was working because people said their phones would re-boot instantly which mine didn't. BUT the last time i tried with heating both sides up, after about a minute it turned on!! thank you to whoever came up with this trick, worked wonders!

Nooooo wayyyy whoever said the hairdryer thing is so smart it actually works i did it for like 30 seconds and turned it over and it turned on.

It makes sense tho heat creates resistance, and potential difference (voltage) is the force of how hard the currents are pushed. If the AC current supplied by the mains stays the same then because of Voltage = current x resistance, keeping the current the same, while increasing the current will increase the potential difference and it will push current into your battery.

It's not even deep think about accidentally leaving your phone on the radiator for 30 seconds it's not gonna blow up.

Wow! I know this thread is older but I thought I should say this worked for me as well.

My Iphone 6 has been off and in a box for a year - I decided to sell it but it wouldn't turn on.

The screen was completely black with no charging symbol.

First I cleaned out the Charging Port, Then I used my blowdryer for about 30 seconds on each side.

I tried the Reboot ( Holding down Home & Power Button for 30 seconds) - nothing happened YET

Then I plugged it in to my laptop - and the charging symbol appeared.

I've had it charging for about 10 mins and it's WORKING

The heat really did help - I had it changing for a full day previously and tried the reboot several times and nothing.

Thanks y'all!

Liz said: heat creates resistance.

That is, fundamentally, wrong.

Heat doesn't create resistance, it is created by resistance (physics 101: friction causes heat) and it is a form of energy in and of itself (heat loss formula: power = current * current * resistance [power is equivalent to heat in this formula]) which is why this insanely dangerous idea (heating the "dead" battery) works.

it is no different than rubbing a lighter, that won't light, between your hands in order to get it to light…except it's more like leaving a lighter on a radiator (not suggested).

Warming electrons (aka injecting energy) causes them to be capable of moving more freely (aka "waste" more energy) and, depending on the amount of energy provided (and the resistance involved) that "wasting" of energy can be very violent.

e.g. Drop ice in coffee and see the reaction in the ice - which will crack and melt fast the instant heat starts to transfer to it.

or just throw a battery in the microwave (don't - very dangerous) to see an even more violent reaction when to much energy is injected into things that weren't designed to handle it.

I'm in shock. Like almost everyone here, I too had to make an account to thank you. My iPhone 6 turned off today because its battery was low, but that had happened before so I was not worried until I plugged in my phone and realized that it wouldn't turn on. I tried to force restart the phone and that didn't work, so I started losing hope. Then I stumbled upon this post and I was like this s#%t won't work knowing my luck. However, I took the hair dryer and kept it on the phone for approx 3 or 4 minutes (that's when the phone started to heat up) and then I plugged in the phone. It didn't turn on right away, but after a couple of minutes the Apple logo finally appeared. I was so happy and relieved.

Thank you again so so much!
